February 2023When you get older, you’ll have a variety of issues over time! I am now 73 years old, and in December I hoisted my KitchenAid mixer to the counter and pulled a muscle in my shoulder. I was miserable for several days and could hardly function and could not lay down to sleep! Immediately after Christmas, I got back to Dr. Russo for treatment. Using the decompression table and other treatments, I am now pain free and I wanted you to know!March 15, 2023I will continue to need Axis Chiropractic and Dr. Russo to keep my spine and low back in alignment. But I have left knee pain as this joint has not been replaced and I have arthritis. This week I have started laser treatment on this knee and after two of them, I am starting to feel improvement! So I will report again when these treatments are done!Original Review:I had never been to a chiropractor, but I knew I had to find some relief from my constant back pain which was keeping me from both moving and sleeping. I was also suffering from arthritis in my feet. I was having foot injections every three months for that pain which only helped part of the time. And I had had several falls resulting in dizziness (inner ear?). Dr. Russo and his staff have done wonders for me in all three respects. I feel wonderful now after three months and I highly recommend Dr. Russo! He treats all your problems and corrects your deficits. When your spine is out of alignment, it is amazing how it can throw your body off! Thanks, Axis!I actually wrote the above review seven months ago! I am feeling wonderful, and I see Dr. Lee once a week now. I want to let everyone know he has added a Triton Decompression Table that I tried yesterday — it is fantastic! It gently stretches the low back, and I can see how it will benefit so many of his patients! Come in and let Dr. Lee and his staff get you moving for the summer!

Dr. Russo and his team have helped reduce the pain and discomfort I experience related to arthritis in my neck and feet. They took the time to educate me on the medical causes of my pain, and are working diligently to correct my spinal abnormalities. They never rush me through the therapy and treatments. I have found the class 4 laser therapy incredibly effective in nearly eliminating the arthritic pain in my foot. I feel that Dr. Russo is truly committed to improving the condition of his patients.

No doubt you're reading this review as you are in need of chiropractic care and in some sort of pain. I certainly was in pain 3 weeks ago and even after reading the positive reviews, it is still hard to make a decision as there are many doctors to choose from in the area. I selected Axis Chiropractics located on James Island as many of the reviews stated, “They treated you like family”. That in itself did not explain much but it got me in the door but was not the only reason I selected them for my continuing treatment. I realize this is a bit long but worth the read in making your decision.I walked in with no appointment, and at the front desk explained I was in pain and need help. I was asked to wait a couple of minutes and the doctor would come to see me. Doctor Lee Russo introduced himself and since we were alone in the front waiting area sat down and asked me to have a seat. I told him my issues and he listened carefully and then explained his method of service and any costs that may be associated with it.I immediately made my decision to stay and was taken into the back for a full set of x-rays. He then gave me an initial adjustment which did make me feel a bit better. He then told me if I could return the next day he would have the x-rays and a plan of treatment for me.The next day during the consultation he showed me the actual x-rays of my spine in a computer program designed to compare spine alignments. My spine alignment was indicated with a red line and a green line indicated a normal alignment. He then explained to me what the issues were and what his plan was to correct them. Additionally, he explained that the newest methods in chiropractics are not only to relieve an immediate problem but to actually correct the underlying issues through actually re-aligning one's spine. After our consultation I was totally convinced I had made the right choice and started with the plan he designed for me that day.It has now been 3 weeks and the improvement in my back and posture has been above and beyond my expectations. Doctor Russo and his staff are experienced professionals that show care and compassion. Yes, I also agree with many of the other reviews, they do make you “feel like family”, which is a plus in my book.

The Team at Axis is great! The new office is clean with quality equipment. They get me in and out quickly and I feel much better with less pain. I like that the cost of care is known up front and I have not received any surprise bills. I like that I can pay at the time of service and don't get additional bills in the mail. Very friendly staff and flexible.

Absolutely the best chiropractic doctor I have ever visited! Dr. Lee has not only relieved my shoulder pain, but also cured my spine, and for at least three years I have been pain-free in the neck. I always come back here for adjustments and small issues after sport activities. Always friendly and high professional service. Highly recommend everyone to try!

I've been to dozens and dozens chiropractors over the course of a decade. Dr.Russo is the most legit chiropractor you will ever visit HANDS DOWN!! Multiple accidents have destroyed my lower spine to the point a good quality of life was only dream to me. Every chiropractor before Dr. Russo did very minimal work and wasn't willing to listen to what I need . I would always leave still in pain and disappointed. Then i came into Axis chiropractic. Desperate to find some relief. I could barly walk when i came in. This place was completely different then anything i have experienced before. Dr.Russo will sit and listen to every concern you have. He will assess exactly the right treatment for you. He goes above and beyond to make sure his patients are treated like they are family. Not only did he fix my problem areas. He properly aligned my spine and FIXED my posture. Then he went EVEN FURTHER and fixed other problems I didn't even know I had!! I left his office feeling better then I have in 10 years!!! The difference i feel is life changing. What was once a dream has now become my life .Thank you so much Dr. Russo. I can't thank you enough for giving me my life back.

I do not have enough great things to say about this place- I was in a very bad accident on 12/26- on crutches- unable to walk- I suffered for a while because I couldn’t bare the pain- I worked my tail off to get from two crutches to one but still was not at all where I should have been- I was told of Axis and all the things they do- I scheduled a consultation & was seen the next day! I went in with a crutch unable to fully stand- I WALKED out- yep- that’s right WALKED out !!! I did go down a few times between appointments- however- after a handful of them , I am WALKING - Without crutches- have not gone down again!!! 10 stars, cause 5 truly isn’t enough! Dr Russo is fantastic! He is so down to earth- listens to your pain and problems & then does everything to fix them- he is a blessing to bones in your body!!!!! So if you are having ANY trouble or need someone with experience, compassion, and understanding- carry your tail over to axis!!!!

Before coming to Axis, I was unable to sleep through the night due to intense back and neck pain. Dr. Russo took X-rays, thoroughly explained my spinal issues and the plan to get me out of pain. After two visits I was sleeping through the night and waking up completely pain free. The whole staff is so friendly and knowledgeable (shout out to Katie and Rachel!) I highly suggest visiting Axis if you have constant pain like I did.
